![]() ![]() ![]() So far this PC has worked so well I've considered using it as my main Minecraft PC (with a gpu upgrade, of course). I just do this to see how far I can push old hardware and to see what it can do. Before you tell me to upgrade, I have better computers than this. I've reinstalled Windows to see if I just had issues with my install (after reinstalling Java, Minecraft, and all of my drivers and applications) and it had no effect. ![]() The CPU overclock has had no effect on this, the issue happens at stock speeds as well. This issue does not happen because of the GPU as I've tried the GPU in other computers and 1.7.2 and up work just as well as 1.6.4. It's so slow that I've waited over 30 minutes after clicking on the multiplayer box and never gotten past the main menu. When I say extremely slow, I mean that it takes several minutes for it to register me moving my mouse over the box to select multiplayer. Problem: Minecraft 1.6.4 and prior work wonderfully on this PC, 45 - 60 fps easily, but 1.7.2 and above get extremely slow. GPU Drivers: 81.98 on Windows 98, 93.71 on XPīackground Applications: Windows Media Player 9 (issue occurs with and without it running) Locate the PCI Express, CNR or PCI slots on the motherboard. Operating System: Windows 98 SE/Windows XP SP3 Motherboard User’s Guide Follow the steps below to install an PCI Express/CNR/PCI expansion card. PSU: Model Unknown, came from a late 90s NEC Ready 9883 GPU: nVidia GeForce 4 MX 440 with 64MB of VRAMĬPU: AMD Athlon XP 2400+ overclocked to 2.3GHz from 2GHz ![]()
